Stability and opportunity: building a strong, sustainable future

The Budget 2008 sets out how the Government is working to achieve its economic objective to build a strong economy and a fair society, where there is opportunity and security for all. It plans to do this by ensuring that the UK can continue to succeed in the competitive and uncertain global economy and by making the most of the opportunities from the transition to a low carbon economy.
